CGDS Goes to a Networking Event Organized by the Head of the Office of the Embassy of Canada to Iraq, Erbil

Ms. Nancy Bergeron, Head of the Office of the Embassy of Canada to Iraq, Erbil, hosted a lunch meeting for representatives of the Center for Gender and Development Studies on Monday, March 25th, in Erbil. Included among the guests were Ms. Barbara Wolf, the German Consul General to Iraq, Ms. Tina Ziegenhain and Ms. Heather Fabrikant, U.S. Consulate General Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs officers respectively, Ms. Yasameen Al-Attila, the Canadian Embassy’s Political and Public Relations Officer; Ms. Kara Agha, the Team Leader of UNFPA’s Sulaimani Office; Mr. Lionel Laforgue, UNFPA GBV Coordinator, and Ms. Salwa Musa, UNFPA Communications Officer. Dr. Choman Hardi, Dr. Lynn Rose, and Ms. Rawa Dilshad discussed upcoming projects and networking opportunities. The usefulness of taking a collaborative approach and integrating our various efforts to tackle gender inequality and other forms of discrimination, became clear. The participants discussed ways in which the various organizations will cooperate.
