CGDS Joins the Association of Ancient Historians

The Center for Gender Studies became an institutional member of AAH, the Association of Ancient Historians, in February 2019. Along with community engagement, CGDS engages in teaching and research in the Humanities, the Life Sciences, and the Social Sciences, including ancient history.  AAH was established in 1969 “with two essential objectives. The first of these is to foster a regular forum for scholarly interaction among historians of the Ancient Mediterranean--especially among those who study the Greeks and Romans--and secondly, to do so in a manner that emphasizes collegiality and social interaction.” (www.associationofancienthistorians.org) CGDS membership will increase the visibility of CGDS and AUIS in North America, and will make information about conferences and study opportunities available to AUIS students and faculty.
