Dr. Lynn Rose, on behalf of the Center for Gender and Development Studies, presented “‘You are the Generator of Society’: Unlearning Learned Helplessness through Service Learning at AUIS” at the ADA 2018 Education Conference, held June 7 and 8 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The conference, titled “Strategizing Education Development: Reflections and Way Forward,” assessed the State Strategy on Development of Education in Azerbaijan, which was implemented in 2013. Scholars, practitioners, policymakers, administrators, and students presented their research on best practices in national and international education development, with an emphasis on assessment of education at all levels. Fifteen papers were selected from fifty submissions for presentation. The conference was held on the ADA campus.
