In February 2019, CGDS Director Dr. Choman Hardi traveled to Lebanon to meet with various gender studies scholars to discuss CGDS’ current EU project. The scholars included Connie Christiansen, Associate Professor of Gender Studies at the Lebanese American University; Joanna Fayad, Gender Integration Specialist at the Lebanese American University, and Kathryn Maude and Sara Mourad, coordinators of the AUB Women and Gender Studies Program at the American University of Beirut. The meetings entailed discussing the prospect of providing training in Beirut and Cairo for gender studies academics. Dr. Hardi also met with Roula Wehbe Abbas, EU Program Manager for Civil Society, to discuss launching an EU database containing the work that has been conducted for the EU project.
