On June 18th 2021, Dr. Choman Hardi was one of the two keynote speakers who opened the online conference, “Revisiting Legacies of Anfal and Reconsidering Genocide in the Middle East Today: Collective Memory, Victimhood, Resilience and Enduring Trauma.” The conference was jointly organized by the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations, Coventry University, and Soran University, Kurdistan. Dr. Choman's addressed was titlted, "Gender, Genocide, and the Public Discourse," in which she traced the development of literature in the field of gender and genocide, discussed the Anfal and Yezidi genocides, and addressed the importance of the dominant discourses on women’s experiences and narrations. Other participants included Prof. Ofra Bengio, Dr. Sherko Kirmanj, Dr. Said Shams, Dr. Sardar Aziz, Nabaz Samad, Shilan Fuad and many others.
