CGDS Visits Redoz Center

On April 6 2022, CGDS Director of Disability Studies Dr. Lynn Rose visited the Redoz Center, which serves families of children with special needs by providing assessment and training for the children. The Center also provides training for their teachers. Dr. Lynn spoke with Ms. Bnar Kareem Rasul, the Director of Redoz, about the center’s activities with children who live with a variety of disabilities, including ADD, ADHD, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and several learning disabilities. Ms. Bnar also provided a tour of the center’s colorful and well organized classrooms, where teachers were teaching children individually and in small groups. Many thanks go to Ms. Shabang Sardar Salihfor her translation and for arranging the visit.

Image description: There are two photos. In one, a woman wearing hijab sits behind a desk, smiling slightly, her hands folded in front of her. There is a window with horizontal slatted blinds behind her, through which we see a grass garden; it is a sunny day. On the desk in front of her are papers, mobile phones, and books. In the other photo, a mobile of about 20 paper hearts in multiple colors hangs in front of a doorway, through which we see shelves with neatly lined pink and blue storage boxes.
