On Tuesday, March 3rd, CGDS traveled to Erbil to meet with several officials of the Peshmerga Ministry, including His Excellency the Minister of Peshmerga Forces, Mr. Shorsh Ismail. Dr. Choman, Dr. Lynn, and Mr. Shko were hosted by Colonel Sherzad Abdullah, who arranged an additional meeting with Major General Bakhtyar Mohammed Sidiq, advisor to the Minister. Captain Rwa Yassin and Major Tavga Abdullah were also present; Ms. Joanne Cummings, Foreign Policy Advisor for the Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve (Baghdad) and Australian Army Lieutenant Colonel Kate Henderson, Gender Advisor for the Coalition Forces Against Isis, also joined. The discussions focused on increasing gender equity in the Peshmerga forces.
