As a part of the national campaign for 16 Days of Activism to Combat Violence Against Women, on Tuesday, 26th Nov. 2019, University of Raparin organized a symposium entitled “Women’s Involvement and Limitations of their Authority in the Public Sector.”
Ms. Banah Fateh, the Director of the Gender Studies Center at Raparin University chaired the session. Dr. Choman Hardi, Director of CGDS participated in the symposium alongside Dr. Basma Muhammad, Commissioner at the Iraqi High Commission for Human Rights, and Ms. Shokhan Ahmed, lawyer and manager of Women's Legal Assistance Organization (WOLA), presented a seminar under the title “Reasons Behind not Applying the Law of Combating Domestic Violence.” The symposium was concluded by questions and remarks from the attendees.
