CIDA is the newly established Center for Informatics and Data Analytics at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS). It is a research, consultancy and training center that aims to support the government, private sector and the civic society, with the use of data science to make more informative, data-driven decision-making on multiple levels.
Vision
The vision of CIDA is to contribute to the development and growth of the government, business, and society through empowering data-driven decision-making.
Mission
The mission of CIDA is to promote research, stimulate consultancy, and provide trainings by working as a hub for all likeminded people who explore, value, and use the power of informatics and data analytics.
CIDA was founded in 2015 by Dr. Hemin Latif, Assistant Professor of Information Technology at AUIS, to use public-private partnerships as a means to improve data literacy and data availability in the society.
CIDA can create significant impact on the data literacy and data availability of the society with the tremendous support of our friends and ambassadors.
Since its establishment CIDA has worked on numerous long-term and short-term projects with internal as well as external partners. Details of the projects can be found on the Projects page.
