On November 6, 2019, IRIS hosted a roundtable discussion with Robina Fellow at Yale Law School, Dr. Mara Revkin, entitled "Can Community Policing Increase State Legitimacy? Preliminary Findings from Iraq." Dr. Revkin presented data from a research paper on a community policing program currently taking place in 13 Iraqi cities as part of a broader security sector reform (SSR) project with the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The data compared local sentiments towards safety and security before and after the implementation of the community policing program.
