استضاف برنامج زمالة قادة العراق في ١٦ أكتوبر/تشرين الأول ٢٠٢٣ وضمن فعاليّات الورشة التدريبية الختامية للدفعة السادسة من البرنامج والتي جرت في مدينة أربيل، الأستاذ فلاح مصطفى المساعد الخاص لرئيس إقليم كوردستان العراق لشؤون العلاقات الخارجية. وجرى في الجلسة الحوارية التي أدارتها د. هنار معروف، خريجة البرنامج ومسؤولة الشؤون السياسية في القنصلية البريطانية في أربيل، الحديث عن طبيعة القيادة في السياق العراقي، إذ تحدّث الأستاذ فلاح مصطفى عن تجربته الثرة في العمل الدبلوماسي مقدّما نصائح قيّمة للقادة الشباب حول أهمية الإيمان بالقضايا الوطنية، والحرص على الاطلاع المستمر وتنمية الثقافة والوعي العام.
بالإضافة إلى تلك الجلسة التي تلاها حفلٌ لتوزيع الشهادات على المشاركين أكملوا البرنامج بنجاح، فقد تضمنت الورشة الختامية ثلاثةُ أيامٍ من التدريب المكثّف للمشاركين في المسارين السياسي والاجتماعي، على مجموعة من مهارات القيادة العملية. ففي المسار السياسي ركز تدريب الحديث إلى الجمهور على تعليم المشاركين أهمية وطرق التحضير المسبق لخطاباتهم السياسية. أمّا في المسار الاجتماعي، فقد تدّرب المشاركون على استخدام مهارات التفاوض كأحد سبل صناعة التغيير الاجتماعي. تضمنت الورشة تدريباتٍ مشتركةٍ أخرى حول إدارة النزاعات والتفويض وإدارة الاستقطاب وتشخيص المناعة الداخلية ضد التغيير. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، فقد استؤنفت تدريبات المحاكاة الخاصة بتشكيل الائتلافات السياسية وحملات المناصرة للقضايا الاجتماعية كلٌ حسب مساره. وكما هو معتاد في بيئة برنامج زمالة قادة العراق، فقد ركّز الفريق التدريبي على توفير المساحة الأمنة للمشاركين وتشجيع التعلم من الأقران وتوفير أقصى قدرٍ ممكن من الأمثلة السياقية.
يُذكر أن هذه الورشة التدريبية هي الثالثة والأخيرة من سلسلة التدريبات التي قدمها البرنامج ضمن إطار زمالة قادة العراق ٢٠٢٣ (الدفعة السادسة)، والذي شارك في هذه الدفعة ٥٠ مشاركاً اختيروا من أصل أكثر من ٨٠٠ متقدمٍ للبرنامج من جميع المحافظات العراقية وإقليم كوردستان.
IRIS Hosts Final ILF 2023 Workshop
On October 16, 2023, IRIS hosted Special Assistant to the President of Kurdistan Region for Foreign Policy Affairs, Mr. Falah Mustafa, as part of the third workshop of the Iraq Leadership Fellows (ILF) Program 2023 in Erbil. During the session moderated by Dr. Hanar Marouf, ILF alumni and Political Affairs Officer at the British Consulate in Erbil, Mr. Mustafa spoke with the participants about his rich experience in diplomatic work, offering valuable advice to the young leaders about the importance of believing in national issues, and being keen on seeking continuous knowledge and developing cultural and public awareness.
The session was followed by a certificate ceremony for the participants who successfully completed the program. This final ILF 2023 workshop also included three days of intensive training for participants in the political candidate and social activist tracks on a set of practical leadership skills. In the political track, public speaking training provided participants with various tools that would help them prepare well for their political speeches. In the social track, participants were trained to use negotiation skills as one of the ways to create social change. The workshop included other joint exercises on conflict management, delegation, polarization management, and diagnosing internal immunity to change. In addition, the workshop featured simulation exercises on the formation of political coalitions and advocacy campaigns for social issues in the two tracks. As is typical in the Iraq Leaders Fellowship Program environment, the training team focused on providing a safe space for participants, encouraging peer learning, and providing as many contextual examples as possible.
It is noteworthy that this training workshop is the third and final of a series of trainings provided by the program within the framework of the Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023 (sixth cohort), which is implemented by the Institute of Regional and International Studies (IRIS) with the support of partners at the DT Institute and the Iraq office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Foundation. Fifty fellows participated in this class, carefully selected from more than 800 applicants for the program from all governorates of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
