Nigar Goksel

International Crisis Group

Nigar Göksel has been Türkiye Representative and Turkey/Cyprus Project Director of the International Crisis Group since April 2015. Based in Istanbul, she researches, produces reports, and conducts advocacy on regional and internal security issues in Türkiye and between Türkiye and its neighbors. Prior to Crisis Group, Nigar worked at a range of US, European, and Turkish NGOs and think tanks - including as Turkey representative of IREX (International Research and Exchanges Board), Project Manager at TESEV (Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation), Senior Analyst for Turkey and the South Caucasus at the European Stability Initiative (ESI), and Editor-in-Chief of Turkish Policy Quarterly. She started her career in Washington DC in 1998.
