Jane Arraf

Journalist

Jane Arraf is an award-winning journalist who has covered Iraq since 1991 - most recently as the New York Times Baghdad bureau chief. Arraf opened a bureau in Baghdad for CNN in 1998 and covered the 2003 war and major battles  live from the front lines. She has also been a correspondent for National Public Radio and the Christian Science Monitor newspaper as well as reported for al-Jazeera English and other television networks, newspapers and magazines in Iraq and other countries. Ms. Arraf is also a former Edward R. Murrow press fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York. She began her career with Reuters after studying journalism in Canada.
