The purpose of the course evaluation is to provide lecturers and management with knowledge of progress towards the learning outcomes of each course, in order to continuously improve the courses and guarantee students the best possible conditions for learning and for completing their studies. Course evaluations are designed to assure the quality of the courses and create a solid basis for future enhancement. The university places great emphasis on the evaluations as a means of guaranteeing positive conditions for student learning and lecturer engagement.
Frequency of Evaluation
Course evaluation is conducted at the end of each semester (Spring, Fall, and Summer).
Process of Evaluation
- At the end of the semester, the Registrar’s office emails all students in the course to fill a confidential form in order to provide feedback about the instructor and the course.
- Evaluations are then delivered to the Registrar’s Office, in order to ensure the anonymity of the feedback.
- The Registrar’s office then compiles the data and sends it to each Faculty member and her or his Chair.
- Course Evaluations are a key component of each Faculty member’s yearly evaluation.
