Dr Abdulkadir is a graduate of civil engineering Department of Mosul University (1967) He has completed his PhD degree at University of Edinburgh (UK) in 1974. His specialization was in structures (infilled frames).

He has published about 30 scientific papers in many areas such as (fiber reinforced concrete, concrete at elevated temperature, infilled frames, shear in concrete beams, strengthening of reinforced concrete members, using waste materials in concrete).

He has supervised more than 25 postgraduate students (PhD and MSc’s).

He has been working at University of Sulaimani, Salahaddin, Anbar and back again at Sulaimani where he retired on 20/7/2018.

From 2006 to 2010, he worked as Cultural Councilor at the Iraqi embassy in Canada.

He has assumed the posts of head of civil engineering departments, dean assistant many times, and he was the first dean of College of Engineering after its reestablishment on 1995.
