Kaziwa Hassan, Adjunct lecturer

Kaziwa works as an adjunct lecturer in the IT department. She has MSc with distinction in Computer Science from the University of Birmingham, UK. She studied her bachelor in Computer Science at the University of Sulaimani. She also works as an assistant lecturer at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Sulaimani. 
In 2007 she participated in a training course in software development in South Korea, sponsored by LG Company. And in 2017 she took part in Fulbright Visiting Scholars Program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, where she was introduced to new teaching pedagogies and research skills at the University of Central Oklahoma. Therefore, she is a strong advocate of active learning and engaging students in the classroom. 
One of Kaziwa’s achievements was during her primary school, according to a decree by the Ministry of Education she passed two grades in a year, 7th and 8th grade due to her high average. 
Kaziwa’s current research interests include pattern recognition, autonomous robot localization, object detection and recognition.
