Nicola Degli Esposti is Visiting Researcher at IRIS from July 2018 to August 2019. He is currently pursuing his PhD in International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His research project investigates the development of the Kurdish national movement in historical and sociological perspective with a focus on the interaction between class and nationalism. He is also interested in International Relations theory, nationalism studies, and in the foreign policy of non-state actors and political parties in the Middle East. He holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Contemporary History from the University of Bologna and a master’s degree in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from Leiden University.
