Zeinab Shuker serves as Climate Change Fellow at IRIS. She is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, and a Non-Resident Researcher at the Emirates Policy Center. Her work explores the impact of oil revenue dependency on economic, political, social, and environmental developments in MENA, emphasizing Iraq’s past, present, and future. She has published in multiple academic journals, research centers, and think tanks. Her latest research paper – Iraq Election Boycott: An Effective Strategy or Pointless Endeavour – was published in the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies in 2021.
