Dastan Khalid earned his BSc in Physics from King’s College London and his MSc in Medical Physics from University College London, UK. He obtained his PhD in atomic physics as part of a split-site program between University of Leeds & University of Sulaimani. While at Leeds, he carried out all of his research with Experimental Quantum Information Group at the Physics and Astronomy Department.  Dastan’s involvement in academic work, including teaching at undergraduate level at various national and international universities and he, is currently a MInstP with the Institute of Physics (IoP) amongst with members of many international scientific organizations such as SPIE, EMS, RMS.His research interest is in the field of atom-light interaction, coherent control, magnetometery and precision measurement.
