Student Services Coordinator

Job Purpose 

The Student Services Coordinator assists the Director of Student Services with all student-related events and issues to enhance both student life and student learning.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Student Services Coordinator is responsible for the following:

  • Oversight of the Department of Athletics, including:

Organization of all equipment, uniforms, coaches, referees, and facilities necessary for managing athletic programs. 

Development of intramural athletic programs on campus.

  • Oversight of all Student Organizations, including:

Providing necessary assistance and funding to students who would like to start an organization on campus.

Assisting and mentoring the Student Advisory Council.

  • Oversight of Student Housing, including:
    Interacting with dormitory supervisors on a regular basis to facilitate the smooth operation of the student dorms, and guaranteeing that disciplinary issues are brought to the attention of the Director of Student Services and/or Dean of Students in a timely manner.    

  • Oversight, planning, and coordination of student events, including:

Creating, planning, and facilitating end of semester and mid-semester parties, picnics, dorm activities, and other events for students, including arranging supplies, transportation, and security for these events through the appropriate AUIS offices.

  • Oversight and management of student interns, including:

Assigning tasks, overseeing work, and assessing job performance.

All other duties and responsibilities which become evidently necessary to ensure the efficient running of the Office of the Dean of Students throughout the course of the academic year.

 

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

  • Fluency in English, Kurdish, and Arabic.

  • Excellent organizational abilities and great attention to detail.

  • Creativity and flexibility.

  • Excellent people and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.

  • Previous management experience, preferably in a multi-ethnic environment.

  • The ability to work independently.
