Professor of Human Anatomy and Physiology


The Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Human Anatomy and Physiology.

The successful candidate for the position will have:

  • An M.D. and/or Ph.D. at the time of appointment in the fields of anatomy, physiology, or related fields.
  • Experience in teaching at the postsecondary level and working in relevant industry positions. Priority will be given to candidates with experience in the health sciences.  
  • Evidence of excellent teaching skills, including the ability to teach diverse populations and students for whom English is not their native language.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.

Applicants who have lived in more than one country are preferred.  The Department is also interested in applicants willing to participate in activities related to the development of new courses of study relevant to the region, in implementation of its recently-approved Medical Laboratory Sciences major, and in design and implementation of other medical and health sciences initiatives.

The Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at AUIS offers a Medical Laboratory Science undergraduate degree and a wide range of University Core Courses and electives in mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, and related disciplines.
