Male Housing Supervisor (Evening)

Job Description

The Dormitory Supervisor is responsible for both providing relevant support for students and enforcing rules and regulations to ensure the smooth and orderly operation of the student dormitories.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise students in dormitories with the purpose of ensuring a safe and orderly facility
  • Assist students with registration, check-in, and check-out
  • Serve as a resource and support for students by advising and assisting with dorm-related issues
  • Conduct bi-weekly cleaning and safety check-ins
  • Maintain a regular log of dorm-related issues and report to the Housing Manager
  • Abide by all rules and regulations of the University
  • Maintain flexible and open schedule for various needs of dormitory residents. While the position is full-time with semi-regular hours, the candidate must be willing to respond to emergencies during off-hours. In addition, a successful candidate must be able to contribute to activities outside of the regular schedule.
  • Accompany students to the hospital in emergency cases
  • Collaborate with Facilities Management staff and safety and security liaisons
  • Update room allocation database
  • Supervise student Resident Assistants
  • Plan social events for residents in order to enhance campus student life
  • Maintain safety standards and respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations

Qualifications

  • Able to spend five (5) nights per week in the AUIS Residence Hall
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and proven ability to act in high-stress situations
  • Experience enforcing rules and regulations in an equitable manner
  • Student-centered and outgoing individual with the ability to work closely with a diverse student population
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Male
  • Ability and willingness to be on duty during working hours and after working hours
  • Strong communication skills in Kurdish, English and Arabic preferred
  • Bachelors degree or higher
