The Department of Information Technology at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Information Technology.
The successful candidate for the position will have:
- A Ph.D. at the time of appointment in information technology or a related field such as computer science, computer engineering or information systems.
- At least three years of combined experience in teaching at the postsecondary level and working in relevant industry positions. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the areas of computer networks and information security, who can also cover other areas of the curriculum.
- Evidence of excellent teaching skills, including the ability to teach diverse populations and students for whom English is not their native language.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
Applicants who speak more than one language, and who have lived in more than one country, are preferred. The Department is also interested in applicants willing to participate in activities related to ABET accreditation, and in the development of new courses of study relevant to the region.
The Department of Information Technology at AUIS offers an undergraduate program leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology. Core competencies developed in our students include problem-solving and programming, networking and communications, database systems, Internet and Web technologies, and information security. Our curricula are supported by state-of-the-art classrooms, labs and facilities, experienced and dedicated faculty, and solid links with the IT community outside the University.
