Delawit Mesfin, Director of Communications
Delawit Mesfin is the Director of Communications and is responsible for overseeing operations of the Office of Communications. Delawit leads the development and implementation of strategy across the University’s external and digital communications platforms, and manages budgeting and planning for the Office of Communications. With more than a decade of professional experience in media and communications, Delawit comes to the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani with a broad range of skills in digital media management and content creation.
Delawit holds a BA in Communication Studies from the American University in Washington, DC and a Certificate in Marketing Strategy from Cornell University's SC Johnson College of Business through the eCornell learning platform.

Hana Saida, Outreach and Communications Manager
Hana Saida is the Outreach and Communications Manager at the Communications Office. In this role, she coordinates all aspects of strategic communications, including content creation, marketing campaigns, and community outreach. She strategizes campaign plans for the university and implements the developed plans on the social media channels. She assists the Director of Communications in advancing communications strategic plans and supports the team in organizing events. With her background in Art and Design, She assists in designing graphic themes for digital and paper based publications. Prior to joining the Communications Office, Hana served one year as a Marketing Coordinator at the Professional Development Institute (PDI) where she was responsible for implementing marketing plans and maintaining the department’s social media channels. Before joining AUIS, She worked as an Interior Designer where she was able to design and oversee renovation projects for international companies, including Huawei Headquarters and IQ Networks.
She holds a FdA in Spatial Design and GDip in Interior Design from the University of Arts London (UAL).
Soran Naqishbandy, Publications Manager
Soran Naqishbandy is an active member of the University's Communications Office and works in three different capacities: as the graphic designer, photographer, videographer and consultant on video projects. He has won the third international prize from CAPA in 2007. He has experience working as a social documentary photographer and has held 11 solo exhibitions in Iraq and Iran and has been involved in group exhibitions abroad. He has translated six books from Persian and English into Kurdish. His most recent research is "Image and Verbal and Visual Art: Imagsim in modern literature/ Ezra Pound as a model".
He received his B.A. in literature from the University of Human Development.

Bzhar Boskani, Media and Public Relations Adviser
Bzhar Boskani is the official spokesperson of the University and is responsible for planning and implementing PR strategies, liasing with key spokespeople, liasing and answering enquiries from media, individuals and other organizations. Bzhar Boskani is involved in the organization of events such as the Sulaimani Forum, including press conferences. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of South Wales, and has about ten years of experience in public relations and media management. He has previously worked as a news editor for the Institute for War and Peace (IWPR), and served as intreperter for the UK Metropolitan police force.

Lana Jabbar, Digital Communications Assistant
Lana is an English literature graduate from AUIS. As a student, she was an intern at the Communications office where she was the content editor and writer. She was also the Editor in Chief at the University's independent newspaper The Voice.
After graduation, she returned from Dubai, UAE, where she resides, to continue with her alma mater as Digital Communications Assistant. She is currently responsible for generating content and articles on the University's website and social media channels, as well as assisting the team during major events through translations, website and social media coverage.
