Prior to joining AUIS in fall 2019, Bonalyn (Bonnie) Nelsen taught management, human resource management, service management and research design and methodology for 22 years. She also served as the Director of Graduate Studies and Professional Development at the University College of the Cayman Islands. Bonalyn is a Fulbright Scholar and holds the Society of Human Resource Management’s Global Professional Certificate in Human Resource Management (GPHR).
Dr. Nelsen is an ethnographer and case researcher who has published papers, teaching cases and book chapters in journals including Administrative Science Quarterly, Research in the Sociology of Organizations, Organizational Behavior Teaching Review and Business Case Journal. Her current research focuses on self-initiated expatriation among academic professionals, the delivery of western-style business education in developing economies, and business development in developing and transitioning economies.
Dr. Nelsen has lived and worked in 14 countries, including Turkey, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Iraq, People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong S.A.R., Dominican Republic and Cayman Islands, BWI.
