Kamaran Ahmed has served as the minister of construction and housing in the Kurdistan Regional Government. Prior to joining the government, Mr. Ahmed had a successful career as an engineer in the private sector, first as a site engineer for a variety of private companies in the region, and then as the founder of an engineering bureau to design and supervise private sector projects.
During this time, he also worked with Kurdistan Save the Children to create computer training centers, as well as variety of other projects. In 2003, Mr. Ahmed began working with the Sulaimani International Airport, as the head of the Supervisory Board, a consultant for the Civil Aviation Organization, and finally as the general director of the Sulaimani International Airport from 2006 to 2009. Ahmed graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Engineering College at the University of Sulaimani.
