APP Community Outreach

The Academic Preparatory Program is proactive in outreach events and strives to be a resource to the entire community.

APP English Conference

APP hosts English conferences featuring both English and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) sessions. APP faculty and invited speakers present various workshops and lectures. The conferences are open to all teachers in the region.

Interaction with Local High Schools

APP faculty members visit various local high schools regulary to meet with English teachers from around the city and sit in on classes. This initiative started as a way to introduce ourselves to the community, see where our future students are coming from, and form a relationship with other educators. Local English teachers are welcome to observe our APP Faculty as well, in order to develop their own teaching methods. Our APP Outreach Committee organizes tea gatherings for our faculty to meet with local teachers for professional development and community building.

Partnerships with Other Universities and Institutions

APP has partnered with the American Corners at the University of Sulaimani to reach out to our local community. APP teachers give seminars, lead discussions, and engage with students and faculty at various events set up by the American Corners throughout the year.
