Amanda Boatwright is an ESL Lecturer in the APP program. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a triple focus in Marketing, International Business, and Tourism Management; an M.A. in International and Intercultural Communication; and an M.Ed. in International Education with a focus in ESL.
She started her teaching career in 1998 and has taught students in the US and in various countries around the world. She worked as the Director of Studies at a school in Western Siberia (Russia) for two years and then as Development Manager for an additional year, spending a total of four years in Siberia teaching students, training teachers, and managing a school.
She was an English Language Fellow in Tajikistan through the U.S. Department of State. In Tajikistan, she trained teachers as well as facilitated workshops for secondary school teachers and university lecturers. In Bangladesh, at the Asian University for Women, she was a Master Teacher and helped launch the inaugural program of Pathways for Promise. Pathways for Promise, an intensive English language program for women from underserved communities, prepares students for entrance to university.
