Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) was developed during the academic year 2015/2016 with the goal of developing the AUIS human capital in a responsive manner and for the benefit of its students.

The CTEL offers continuous training for faculty and staff. It aims to nurture and develop key skills and attitudes necessary for effective performance in quality teaching and learning at AUIS. CTEL is dedicated to promoting excellence in teaching through the development of faculty and staff, and assisting in the realization of staff and faculty’s potential. Faculty and staff annual evaluations highlight areas for development and provide the center with the topics to be addressed through its curriculum.

The goal of the center is to develop faculty and staff’s potential to become the best they can be with regard to three functions: teaching, service and scholarly activities. CETL attains this goal by:

  • Sharing best (current and successful) practices in andragogy.
  • Supporting a culture of excellence in teaching.
  • Addressing individual faculty and staff needs for development related to teaching and learning.
