University students from anywhere in the worlds are eligible to study abroad at AUIS. Study abroad is available for regular semesters (fall or spring), a full year, and intensive terms (summer or winter).
Studying abroad at AUIS offers students a unique opportunity to experience life in Sulaimani and Iraqi Kurdistan while completing English-language, international quality university coursework. To date, students from all over the world, including Denmark and Germany, have completed terms at AUIS.
In order to be eligible for study abroad, you must:
- Be currently enrolled as a full-time student at university outside of Iraq.
- Be proficient in English (either in the form of completed English-language university coursework an official, TOEFL iBT, IELTS score).
Please note that the transferability of credits varies depending on your home institution; their transfer credits will determine the final outcome of the transfer process.

How to Apply
In order to apply for study abroad at AUIS, you must send scanned PDF copies of the following documents to Rebeen Azad, Director of Admissions at email@example.com.
- Study Abroad Application
- Official enrollment verification from home university
- Proof of English proficiency (official transcript demonstrating completion of English courses or official score report of TOEFL iBT, IELTS)
Please note that study abroad students do not need to equalize their information into the Iraqi system in order to be eligible for study abroad.

Tuition, Fees and Housing
Tuition for Fall or Spring Semester: $3,250 per semester (not including textbooks or housing fees)
Tuition for Winter or Summer Semesters: $500 per course (not including textbooks or housing fees)
AUIS has among the best college housing facilities in Iraq. Study abroad students may apply to live in the AUIS dorms for the standard monthly rate. For full information, please visit our student housing page.
