Hittepole worked 10 years in the aerospace industry before coming to AUIS. His industry experience included all aspects of product development for aircraft interior components, including design, analysis, testing and certification. His interests include mathematics and physical sciences, materials, structural analysis, computer modeling of nonlinear phenomena and sustainable development. In addition to his industry experience, Hittepole has contributed a substantial amount of time doing volunteer work in the developing world. He spent six months in Ecuador helping to design and implement sustainable, clean water systems in remote communities, and three years working as a project manager for a family garden project in the Saharawi refugee camps, located in the Algerian desert.
