March 13, 2017 – Iraq’s former Ambassador to the United States, Lukman Faily, visited AUIS for a roundtable discussion with students.
The Ambassador spoke with the students about the road to success and the challenges they may face, and the importance of enjoying one’s work as it can be their best source for motivation: “You need to be in harmony with yourself to be the engine of your own development," he advised. He also said that people not adhering to the law and the misuse and abuse of the law by the state makes it harder for a country to have a healthy state system.
Students were engaged in the talk and asked the guest many questions. On being asked about how to achieve success while living in times of such conflict, he advised, "AUIS gives you the chance to express and converse about these issues. Enjoy the pain of learning, which is a rewarding process," said the Ambassador.
